What makes us Different?

Experience and Expertise

Our management team has a diverse background in the financial services industry. We have assembled a talented group who has worked for large wirehouse and independent firms as well as on the institutional side of the business. We can even advise you on alternative investments that are typically available only to the ultra-affluent. Through our experience we have learned that there are many more opportunities available to investors than just the United States fixed income markets. What will surprise you is how the US bond market changed in size relative to the rest of the world. In 1985, the $776 billion US bond market represented more than half of the global fixed income investment opportunities… By the end of 2010, the US market represented less than one third of the world’s bond market… all while expanding six-fold.

What does this mean?  If you’re not including an allocation of global fixed income investments to your portfolios you’re ignoring 71% of the potential bond market.  AVWM knows the world is changing and it make sense to broaden your horizons beyond the United States and invest globally.

Strength and Credibility

  1. When you invest with Alta Vista Wealth Management, LLC. (AVWM) you can invest with confidence. We believe in a disciplined and methodical approach to investing. It is the cornerstone of everything we do and the best way to create long-term value for our clients. After the recent financial crisis, the way people began thinking about and developing portfolios changed.  Suddenly, the company or government behind an investment became as important as how an investment performed. Trust, credibility and strength took on new importance for investors.
  2. Here at AVWM we are open-minded and believe that no one person or firm has a monopoly on good ideas. One such example would be the portfolio manager, Dr. Michael Habenstab, Ph.D. of Franklin Templeton Investments. He manages their global bond fund which currently has approximately 61.6 billion dollars in investor’s assets as of 02/29/2012. The fund has grown both in terms of assets under management and performance. His strategy to invest in global bonds, Eurobonds and foreign bonds in the local currencies is a formula we embrace.
  3. We partner with Pershing, LLC. the leader in global clearing services and the largest custodian based on their list of broker dealer customers. Pershing is part of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, which has in excess of 26.6 trillion in assets, 1.02 trillion of those in global assets with over 5000 employees  worldwide. You should have peace of mind, knowing your Alta Vista Representative is supported by a worldwide network of financial professionals and the most respected custodian on Wall Street. Recently Pershing was rated #1 for customer statements by DALBAR, Inc., the nation’s leading financial services market research firm.

He also said that “Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.”

At Alta Vista we provide the knowledge and expertise to keep you on course so you can maintain your focus on your financial goals. During volatile market times income solutions help to balance portfolio’s to keep you on track.  By searching the world for investment opportunities in currencies, interest rates, sovereign credit and dividends we offer demonstrated results as a proven income solution provider. Patience and Fortitude are the world renowned pair of marble lions that stand proudly before the majestic New York Public Library. Their nicknames have changed over the decades; first they were called Leo Astor and Leo Lenox, after the library’s founders, John Jacob Astor and James Lenox.  During the 1930’s, Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia named them Patience and Fortitude, for the qualities he felt New Yorkers would need to survive the economic depression. Metaphorically speaking, these lions embodied what the human psyche so desperately craved (and still does) – strength, sturdiness, stability and a willingness to look up even when everything in the world seems to have been turned upside down.
